Deadpool” marks the beginning of a new era for superhero films, and one sequence in particular was key to setting the tone. This is an in-depth VFX breakdown reel showcasing the behind-the-scenes efforts by the Atomic Fiction team.

The work involved creating computer generated characters, vehicles, and an entire urban environment, for the thrilling car chase that kicks off this new franchise!

In the video above, you can see the meticulous F/X it took to bring Wade Wilson’s initial interaction with the bad guys. Much of the movie was shot on green screen, allowing for photo realistic material to be added in later.

What’s most striking about the footage is the number of pure CG character and cars there are. Watching the finished product, you’d never guess that some of these sequences were made 100 percent in the computer.
