Unfortunately in Adobe After Effects, there isn’t a convenient way to quickly preview files. You usually work with many images, video footage, audio files and you create a lot of pre-comps. Then when you want to use some of it, for example, a photo or a short clip, many a time you want to preview it before you place it into the timeline. You will need to reveal the source file and open it or open it in a footage viewer. If you need to do it with many files, it will be so time-consuming.
That’s where Previewer comes into play. Previewer is a native plugin for Adobe After Effects. It enables you to quickly preview footage directly in After Effects.
Open your project, open previewer and dock it where ever you want and preview items just by selecting them in the project panel. You can quickly preview imported videos, images, sound effects, the first frame of pre-comps, Adobe Illustrator files and more.
This can be very handy when you are working with project file templates. There are usually a lot of images or pre-comps which you want to preview before you use them.
With Previewer, you can work much faster and more focused on your project. Finally, watch dirty movies directly in After Effects.
Previewer is compatible with Adobe After Effects CS5 and above.
